Trick or Treat 2011

We had so much fun this year with Trick or Treat!  The Mr. and I had a harder time coming up with a "themed" costume for the 3 little people this year but at the last minute we had a brilliant idea.  They dressed as:
 the tin man

 the scarecrow

the lion

We went to Trunk or Treat hosted by our church and then on Halloween night we went with some friends to do some trick or treating.  Braden said it was a successful night because we had LOTS of candy. Kasen wasn't feeling very great Halloween night but he managed to tough it out so he could say "twick or tweat." Hudson tolerated all of this very well. Thank goodness he is such a calm baby!

good intentions

I don't know what my deal is.  I have not updated this thing in forever & I promised myself that I would at least update once a week.   Actually I know what the problem is, I have 3 kids under the age of 5 (they aren't the problem - they are super sweet and cute and I love them, really I do), anyways as I was saying.  I very RARELY get any time to sit down and do things for myself, well except when they are napping and then I usually decide to nap with them because I'm tired and I convince myself that the laundry can wait and the dishes aren't going anywhere, my sanity may be flying out the window so I should nap when they nap!

We've been busy.  Billy and I made the boys a new loft bed.  It's pretty amazing if I do say so myself.  I found the idea on pinterest (Billy has a new found HATE for that website) we bought our supplies and we headed out to Mema & Papa's barn and we built them a bed. They LOVE it, and I love it because it is unique and special and mom and dad made it for them.  I'll post pictures soon.

Braden is in Kindergarten, that sounds so strange to me, and he is doing fabulous according to his teacher.  We had parent teacher conference Thursday evening. She said that every parent came in saying "my son/daughter talks about this Braden kid all the time." So he's like his dad, like we didn't already know that - he is his dad's mini-me, the kid LOVES to talk ALL.THE.TIME.  So he's making friends and learning and growing.  That is all I wish for my kids - to be happy, healthy, love life & know God.  I think so far we are successful in that area.

Kasen is becoming quite the talker story teller.  He has started making up stories and telling tall-tales, and he talks about more than just trains - which is kind of nice to my ears! Don't get me wrong, i enjoy hearing about trains, but sometimes it's nice to hear about superheros and bad guys and dinosaurs.  It just shows how different 2 kids can be.  I love watching them discover their own personalities, it's fun, and i'm glad I was chosen to be these 3 boys mommy.

Hudson rolled over today from back to belly and then from belly to back! YAY! He is growing and changing so much.  I can't wait to see what his little personality will be like.  I'm sure it will be totally different than the other 2 and I can't wait to see what he is like.  I think he may take after Kasen and be a little ornery - I can see it in his eyes! =)

I have good intentions - updating at least once a week.  For family that is far away, for my kids so one day they can go back and read all of the crazy things they did or said or that I did or said.  For myself, because it's good to put your feelings on paper or computer fake paper?

Go ahead....do it!

We all do it....we try to trick our little ones by saying things like "You better eat this before I do..." or "I'm going to beat you to the potty..." well we say that a LOT to our little Kasen to get him to eat or to get him to beat us to the bed for a nap or like today when I said "Kasen I'm going to go use the potty before you....you better not beat me"  He looked at me with that mischievous little grin that melts my heart and said "Go ahead...do it!" and ran the other way!! He is such a rotten stinky little boy...but gosh I sure do love him!

July

July was a busy month for us.  We ventured out on our first road trip as a family of 5 and headed north to Bartlesville for a weekend.  Papa Jim was there and the boys had a good time playing with Nana, Papa, Tyler, Lacy, Jeff & Heaven.  We went to Kiddie Park, the boys favorite place to go in Bartlesville, swam and just had a good time.  It was a pretty successful road trip, no major meltdowns by any of us! =)

We've done a LOT of swimming , Braden has become quite the little swimmer. He wore his belt for MAYBE a total of 15 minutes the first time he jumped in the pool this year, then decided he could swim and has not worn it since.  His favorite thing to do is "pencil jump" off the diving board and then swim and touch the bottom of the pool - quite an accomplishment for a 5 year old....its 10 feet deep!! Mema told him he sure could hold his breath for a long time - his response "I don't hold my breathe, i'm like a fish, I can breathe underwater!"  Kasen is a little swimmer too.  He still wears the swimming belt, but he sure can dog paddle like a pro.  I'm guessing next summer he will be swimming all by hisself, and breathing like a fish - just like his big brother!

We also went to Hawaiian Falls in Frisco with our friends, Nikki, Jory, Jeret & Neely Jo.  It was a lot of fun.  Braden had an underwater camera and took picutres of EVERYTHING, I'll only post the ones that actually have people in them! =)

Billy got a new truck, THANK GOODNESS! Now we can all 5 actually fit and ride in his vehicle.  It's pretty and we love it! =)

That pretty much sums up July...I think. Now enjoy all the pictures!

July 4, 2011

I am SO behind on updating this, so just bear with me as I get caught up. We had a great 4th this year. We spent the morning just hanging out as a family of 5, (that still sounds strange to me!) at the house. Then we went and snatched up some "cracker-fires" as Kasen would say and headed out to Mema & Papa's house. Dewey & Norene came out and joined us, along with Mom & Ivan and Mema & Papa. Everyone swam, ok almost everyone, ok everyone except for me, Hudson, Mema & Papa swam. We got to sit out in the hot sun and watch everyone else swim. We ate the typical 4th of July food and then when it got dark enough we popped the "cracker-fires." The boys did some smoke bombs before it got dark, those were their favorites! Braden actually enjoyed the 4th this year, every year before he has been scared, well no actually TERRIFIED of the fireworks. He would hold his hands over his ears and scream and it was terrible for anyone involved. I convinced him to wear some ear-phone things that you wear to shoot guns and he was able to sit outside with us this year. I'm SO happy he decided to like fireworks, because the 4th is my 2nd favorite holiday! All in all it was a wonderful day.

Hudson Lee Hamilton

So I'm a little behind in my blogging, but for good reason.  Here is a little timeline of things that have happened since my last post:

May 10, 2011: Not feeling well, dropped by the doctors office just to make sure everything was ok with me and baby.  My blood pressure was a little high, ok maybe a LOT high.  Sent me for blood work at the hospital.  Instead of just blood work, I got caught by the doctor and admitted to the hospital.  Probably a good thing.  My blood pressure was HIGH and I was contracting and I was only 32 weeks prego.  So as bad as I didn't want to be in the hospital it was probably a good thing.  Got to go home on bed rest after being there for 3 days and getting the whole slew of good things that a person can get when they are hypertensive and in pre-term labor.

I kind of lost track of the days after that.  Seems like I was admitted to the hospital for 1-2 days every week until Hudson made his arrival.  Only way to keep my BP at a reasonable level was to lock me in a hospital room on my left side. I convinced the doctor to let me go in everyday for a NST and blood pressure check for 2 weeks before Hudson made his arrival.  But that is ok because after many nights in the hospital and lots of prayers for a healthy baby boy we got to meet our little man.  When I say little, I mean little! He was (is) such a tiny little guy.

June 14, 2011 at 8:02 a.m. Hudson Lee Hamilton joined our family.
Stats:
5lbs 5 oz
18 inches long
HEALTHY and happy =)

It's hard to remember life without him, well ok I do remember being able to sleep all night, but that's ok. He's cute and we love him anyways.  Braden and Kasen just love their little brother.

Braden is my "helper" he likes to hold him, feed him and burp him.  For a few days Braden was the only one who could get him to burp.  Guess he just had that magic touch.  Billy and I would try forever to get Hudson to burp with no luck. Braden would get him and pat his little back a few times and he burped.  We call him the "Burp Whisperer!"

Kasen is the "protector" - really! He calls him "my baby Hudson" in his cute little way of talking.  If Braden gets close to him or is giving Hudson kisses Kasen will come running up and say "Leave my baby Hudson alone brother." He like to help feed him and hold him too, but you have to watch him CLOSE.  When he is done....he is DONE!

I'll leave you with some pictures of Hudson's birth-day!

Happy 5th Birthday Braden!!

On May 17, 2006 @ 5:22 p.m. our lives changed forever....for the better.  We were blessed with a 6 lb 1 oz, 17 in little bundle of joy - Billy Braden Hamilton.  It was a LONG road getting him here, a month long stay in the hospital and lots of emotional ups and downs, but it was ALL worth it.  It's hard to believe that it has been 5 years, it's gone by so fast and we have made SO many wonderful, amazing memories with him.  He is a smart, spunky, fun, happy, train loving, amazing little boy and I can't even remember what life was like before him.  All I know is that it was not near as blessed and wonderful as life is with him in it.  Braden you make my world so much better, you walk in the room and my eyes light up, you make a bad day a good day and I just want you to know that I am SO VERY proud of you and I love you more than words can describe. I'm so thankful and blessed that God chose me to be your momma.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
I love you to infinite ~ Momma

our hot dog roast

Here lately the boys favorite thing to do is to have a "hot dog roast".  A few Saturdays ago we had our good friends, Paul, Amanda, Jake & Grant over and had a hot dog roast in our backyard.  The boys thought it was really special because these hot dog roasts are usually only enjoyed out at Mema & Papa's house.  Here are a few pictures that I snapped from the evening.
