so you say we need glasses...

Yesterday we found out Braden has to have glasses. Him and Kasen were wrestling in the floor last Wednesday night and Kasen accidentally kicked him in the eye. He started complaining Thursday that his eye was itchy and the it hurt. I didn't really think much of it, just shrugged it off to being related to allergies. We had been outside all day Wednesday and all day Thursday, so it made sense to me.  I did however call the eye doctor but they were closed for vacation Thursday and Friday. Friday they were at my Mom's house all day while I was at work and she said that he complained about them being itchy, but again, she just figured it was allergies because they had been outside ALL day. He complained off and on all weekend and Monday when he got out of school he said the board looked blurry. I had already called and scheduled an appointment for "just in case." We went to the doctor yesterday and he did indeed have a scratch on his eye that was healing perfectly, and was in fact almost completely healed. He put some antibiotic eye drops in his eye for safe measure.  As we continued with the eye exam I had a sinking feeling that we were headed straight for glasses. Turns out Braden is a LOT like his momma and is near-sighted, meaning he can see things close up but has difficulty seeing things far away.  Braden was kind of excited about it, especially when he started trying glasses on. We go to pick up the glasses today, so we will see if he is still as excited today as he was yesterday.  I on the other hand wasn't NEAR as excited as him, being a contacts/glasses wearer myself I know what a pain in the rear they can be, especially for a 4 year old. I think he will handle it fairly well, especially if he can tell a huge difference when he has them on. I'll post pictures this evening as soon as we get home.  He does look pretty darn cute in them though! =)

3...2...1...BLASTOFF!

Yesterday Billy was super nice and cleaned out my nasty tahoe!  He is such a good husband! He also brought the boys carseats in and we washed the covers and cleaned them out. While we were putting them back together last night, the boys decided they wanted to be astronauts.  Here are the pictures:

Fun with the Nikon

So I FINALLY got a new camera and I LOVE it. These are some of the pictures I took the day after I got it. I still haven't quite figured out all of the settings, but I'm getting there! Enjoy =)

what a week!

So it's been a little over a week since I posted, but for good reason!

Last Monday (the 21st) my Grandpa David had a heart cath performed at TMC, they found 2 100% blockages and 1 99% blockage.  Needless to say he had emergency open heart surgery that evening around 6. They only had to do 2 bypasses (they got 2 of the blockages with one bypass). He is recovering well. He had to get a pacemaker placed last night due to an irregular heartbeat that was not corrected by medication, so now he is REALLY doing better. Kasen and I have been driving Meme to the hospital in the mornings and coming home in the afternoons just in time to pick up all of the kids.  Kasen is really tired in the evening because he doesn't get a very good nap in the car...but hopefully Papa will be home by Friday and we can all get back into a routine. I'm just thankful that everything went well with his surgery! God is good! =)

We haven't really even been home in the evenings and when we have been home we are all so tired we have been going to bed early! I'm ready to get back into our normal routine so that we will ALL feel more rested!!
