"thats just like the one the frogs have"

Today we were at Sears eating lunch with Billy, Braden needed to go to the bathroom so Billy went to help him. Well they have one of those timed air freshener spritzer's in the bathroom and as Billy and Braden were walking out Braden says to his daddy "HEY, you have one of those things just like the frogs have." So if you are all confused.....the Air Wick commercial for the timed air freshener is animated with frogs.....I don't know how the kid remembers what he does, it just blows me away!!

Here are some pics and videos of the boys....

This weekend Hank & Virginia came down. Saturday we took Braden bowling, he had never been before so we thought it would be something fun to do. His favorite thing to do was watch the ball hit the pins and then do a dance when they fell over. This is a video of him bowling all by himself.

Billy was helping Braden bowl before we got the nice little ramp thing, and it was the FUNNIEST thing ever. I did not get it on video, but just imagine.....Braden and Billy walk up to the lane with the bowling ball, Braden just kind of drops the ball straight down and it is not going anywhere, but it is in the middle of the slick slippery bowling lane. SOOO Billy decides that he will just give the ball a little kick to help it down the lane.....well the ball went down the lane and so did Billy. He stepped to far out and as he kicked the ball down he went....it was so FUNNY. Hank was laughing so hard he couldn't breath, and I was laughing so hard I was crying. And the even funnier part is that we were the only ones who saw it, and the bowling alley was PACKED. Billy got up with grace and just laughed it off, oh how I wish I had it on video, we could have won some serious cash with that one!!!

Here are some pics of Braden bowling:

We had a really great weekend getting to visit with Nana & Papa Hank, Braden really enjoys is when they come to see him and Kasen.

Braden playing the harmonica

Braden got a harmonica for Christmas, we were watching the Inaugural Ball on TV and one of the performers started playing a harmonica, he ran off and came back with his and started playing it. Enjoy...=)

He's a tricky little guy

It's been a while since I have been able to get on the computer for more than 5 seconds, so I will update while I'm here!

Saturday night we were laying in bed. Braden was in the bed with us and he had been laying there for about 20 minutes without moving, so I lifted his arm and it was limp and fell back down. I told Billy to go ahead and get in the shower and then he could move Braden to his bed when he got out. So Billy gets out and bed and Braden says "where are you going dad?" That little turkey was faking!! Billy told him to close his eyes and go back to sleep, and Billy got back in bed. We layed there for about 15 more minutes and Billy picked up Braden's arm, it was limp again and fell back to the bed, and then Braden starts cracking up...he was faking again!! Billy and I couldn't help but laugh...he is such a tricky little dude. I think it is so funny that he knew how to make his arms limp so we would think he was asleep. He is crazy smart for a 2 year old!

Barry the Bear

*Serena & Braden*

So we had a fun filled weekend. We really didn't do anything on Friday night, just went and grabbed a bite to eat and then came home and just relaxed. Saturday night we went out to eat @ Kahn's with Eric, Becca & their daughter Serena, Warren, Carrie and their son Trevor. Serena and Braden talk about each other all the time, they are only 6 weeks apart and they love every minute they get to spend with each other. We were getting ready to leave Kahn's and we looked down and Braden & Serena were holding hands....cutest thing ever!!! After we ate everybody came over to our house, the little kids ran around playing like crazy chasing each other and playing with all of Bradens toys. He even let them play trains with him....I was so proud! The "big" kids played games on the Wii, it was really alot of fun, Billy and I were sore the next morning from playing the Wii.

Yesterday (Monday) Billy was off work so we took a family day out and went to Friso, we didn't really do any shopping just enjoyed time together. We took Braden to the Build-a-Bear workshop and he made him a chocolate Brown bear, dressed him in an OU t-shirt with blue jeans, and named him "beary", we told him its name could be "Barry Switzer" since it was an OU bear!!

"....but I want to be a champion"

*my champs*

So last night we watched the Sooners lose...again. Braden wasn't really that into the game, he was more into his trains, but he did want him and Kasen to wear their OU jerseys. So I put their jersey's on them and told Braden that if OU won the game they would be Champions and then he would have on a Champions jersey......well when the game was over the conversation when something like this: "mommy....are we champions, did we win?" "nope, OU lost so Florida is the champion" "BUT MOM....I WANTED TO BE THE CHAMPIONS!" and I told him he was still a champion even though OU wasn't....=) I'm sure this was the first of many conversations of heartbreak over his favorite team losing the game...

Kasen's 2 month check-up

Well yesterday I took Kasen for his 2 month check-up, he is doing great! He weighs 11 lbs 4 oz and is 23 inches long...he is doing good for a kid that weighed 6 lbs 1 oz and was 19 inches when born. He is in the 60th percentile for height, weight and head circumference. He did get 3 shots yesterday and WAS NOT happy about it, that is the longest and loudest he has cried so far.

Braden is doing awesome at the potty training, I knew it would come easy to him since he is such a smart kid (okay maybe I am a little biased...but he is a SUPER smart kid). His favorite thing to do is pee in the backyard ..(yes we have a privacy fence so no one can see)...I just took him our to pee and he said "mom...it's kind of nippy out here....we better go in before we catch a cold." LOL...how many 2 1/2 year olds say that kind of stuff??? He is hilarious...

I'm released from the doctor to go back to work....now if only the hiring freeze at the hospital would be lifted. I'm really ready to begin my career as a nurse, I'm ready to learn all of the new things that you can't learn in school and I'm ready to put my knowledge to work. But I guess all I can do right now is wait.....

"....but you are the fixer girl"

Happy New Year!!! We had a fun time ringing in the new year....we sat up and played card games, the kids played and popped poppers at midnight. Braden really had a lot of fun watching the ball drop, he wanted to watch it drop again last night...lol....I told him he would have to wait until next year and he got kind of upset. I guess I should have recorded it!

Yesterday Braden was eating a cereal bar, his favorite breakfast food. He was tryint to climb onto mine and Billy's bed so he put the bar in his mouth to climb. Well....the cereal bar broke in half, and he started crying. He kept saying "mommy fix it...put it back together," and I told him I couldn't fix it and tried to explain to him that he could still eat it, but he would have 2 bars to eat instead of one. He look at me and said "....you have to fix it mommy, your the fixer girl." It was to cute....=)

I'm proud to report that he is completely potty trained. I told him that the police man came and got his diapers while he was taking a nap and took them to the little boys and girls whose parents can't afford to buy them. After I told him that I had him throw the diaper he had on in the trash and we put on big boy undies, ever since we have been pee-peeing in the potty & sleeping in big boy undies (without accidents!). I am SOOOO glad that he caught on so fast!!!
