This Easter we had so much fun!! Hank & Virginia came down and spend Saturday and most of the day Sunday with us. The boys really enjoyed the time they got to spend with their Nana & Papa and especially enjoyed getting to have them with us for a holiday. They really miss seeing them since we live so far apart. Braden told me yesterday that it was the best Easter ever because Nana & Papa were here.
They got to our house about 12:30 on Saturday afternoon, the boys were napping when they got here, but Braden was awake shortly there after! We spent the afternoon baking cakes, cupcakes and dyeing eggs. Then they took us to eat at Tokyo, (the boys really love going there but it is not something that we do very often) so they were VERY excited. We got up Sunday morning and looked out on the front porch to see what the Easter Bunny brought and then got ready for church. After church we had lunch at Meme's house and Braden, Kasen, Kylee & Dava hunted eggs. When we left there we went out to Mema's house to ride 4-Wheelers, RTV's, & little John Deere RTV's. They rode for quite a while and then helped Papa Dan gather the supplies needed for our hot dog roast. The hot dog roast has become a nice little tradition for us I think! They boys really enjoy getting to ride on the trails and then helping pick up sticks and make the bonfire.
It was a VERY eventful day, but it was a day FULL of blessings and fun. I'm so thankful and blessed that we have a reason to celebrate this special occasion of Easter with family and friends.
Our Easter celebration was one of those 'Good and perfect gifts from above ~ James 1:17'. Starting with family attending worship service, hunting eggs with three great-grandchildren - Braden, Kasen, Lillie, a hot dog roast, riding on the trails. and just enjoying being together with family!
ReplyDeleteBut Easter begins for each of us when Jesus comes into our heart - then the Easter journey is every day, so celebrate with friends & family like Christy described - knowing God provides all good gifts everyday - especially our precious families.
Father God, we also celebrate the blessing of the future addition of another precious Hamilton boy in June/July.
